Courtney is an associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Creditors’ Rights Group.
Prior to joining Tucker, Courtney gained invaluable bankruptcy experience as a judicial law clerk for The Honorable Judge Thomas P. Agresti in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. This clerkship allowed Courtney to gain vast knowledge of a myriad of bankruptcy issues and allowed her to learn firsthand how the system and filing process operates. During her clerkship, Courtney kept herself well apprised of all updates in bankruptcy law, which was ever changing as a result of the various COVID relief bills passed during the pandemic.
Courtney served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Crawford County District Attorney’s office where she represented the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in criminal proceedings for crimes ranging from summary appeals to felonies. Courtney began her legal career working in legal aid, assisting indigent clients in matters of unemployment and social security benefits. Courtney’s public service experience has given her insight into the inner workings of a variety of legal systems, which allows her to be an efficient problem solver.
Before pursuing her legal career, Courtney worked in the environmental field and interned at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania and the Southwest Louisiana Wildlife Refuge Complex in Cameron Prairie, Louisiana. Both of these experiences focused on ecosystem and invasive species management.
