Ashley is a member of the firm’s Municipal and School practice group and a member of the Business & Finance department. Her practice includes a blend of public and private sector clients. She uses her excellent client service skills to assist clients by getting to the heart of the issues they face, while utilizing her legal experience to troubleshoot these issues. Prior to joining Tucker Arensberg, P.C., Ashley worked at a mid-sized insurance defense firm in Pittsburgh and at a boutique firm in White Oak, Pennsylvania, where she focused on municipal law, real estate, and small business matters. Attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills are just a few of Ashley’s greatest strengths.
Ashley currently serves as solicitor to the Borough of White Oak, the Borough of McDonald, and assistant solicitor to Derry Township in Mifflin County, and represents other municipal law clients who she frequently advises with regard to zoning, land use, code enforcement issues, labor & employment, pension issues, as well as the Right-to-Know Act and the Sunshine Act. In addition, she assists municipal clients by attending monthly municipal meetings, magisterial hearings, and summary appeal hearings.
Ashley regularly practices before the Allegheny County Board of Property Assessment Appeals and Review and the Allegheny County Board of Viewers, and has experiencing representing school districts, municipalities, businesses, and individuals in tax assessment and tax exemption matters. Ashley also has experience representing delinquent tax clients by attending magisterial court hearings and taking properties with delinquent real estate taxes through the sheriff sale process from start to finish.
Ashley’s practice provides a one-stop-shop for business owners. She has experience with advising owners in early- stage businesses with establishing solid foundations and setting themselves up for the future through entity selection and registration, employment contracts, and leasing. She also supports more established companies with growth and expansion.
Ashley also has experience assisting clients with various labor and employment issues including but not limited to handbook preparation, medical marijuana/drug testing policy preparation, and the preparation of non-competition, non-solicitation, and employment agreements. She has assisted clients with wage and hour issues and also has experience conducting employment investigations and workplace harassment trainings.
Ashley comes from a working class background and has years of experience working for family-owned businesses. This has given her great insight and the ability to understand the plethora of challenges that small business owners face day- to-day. She develops and fosters relationships by having a thorough understanding of her clients business and prides herself on delivering proactive peace of mind so that clients can focus on running their businesses.
