15 years of employee benefits experience representing Taft-Hartley and multiemployer benefit plans.

Andrew is a union-side labor and ERISA and employee benefits litigation attorney at Tucker Arensberg. He represents and advises his union clients on various matters relating to collective bargaining, grievance processing, DOL compliance and audits, NLRB proceedings, and internal operations.

Additionally, he works with Taft-Hartley trustees and plan administrators in collecting fringe benefit contributions and withdrawal liability against employers under ERISA. He assists Taft-Hartley trustees and plan administrators in fiduciary and other insurance coverage, design of retirement and benefit plans and reporting requirements. Andrew represents Taft-Hartley clients with respect to employee plan investigation, and routine audits in front of governmental agencies (IRS, DOL, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation) and advises them on the issues of legislative compliance such as ERISA claims, the Affordable Care Act, COBRA coverage, retirement plans, SECURE Act, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.

Andrew is admitted in all Ohio state and federal courts and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. He attended Loyola University Maryland where he received his BA in Psychology and earned his JD from Cleveland-Marshall School of Law. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, riding his bike, and backcountry hiking.

Representative Experience

  • Advises and represents unions in numerous matters relating to employers, members, or internal operations.
  • Negotiates collective bargaining agreements on behalf of unions and their members.
  • Represents unions in proceedings before the NLRB (National Labor Relations Board).
  • Drafts complaints, motions, and trial and appellate briefs.
  • Handles various discovery-related matters, including depositions.
  • Conducts post-judgement collection efforts.
  • Negotiates and drafts settlement agreements.
  • Represents employees in a variety of matters (wrongful discriminatory discharge, severance negotiations, unemployment, trade secret disputes, wage theft, etc.).
  • Prepares and attends the trustees' meetings, drafts board minutes, works with the service providers to review and finalize agreements, and drafts legal opinion memoranda.
