PA Dept. of Labor Industry’s Municipal Bidding Thresholds Increase in 2022

News December 27, 2021

Daniel C. Conlon, dconlon@tuckerlaw.com, (412) 594-3951

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s bidding thresholds for a municipal authority and municipality will increase a little over 2% in 2022.

The Department published its bidding thresholds for 2022 under Act 90 of 2011. Under Act 90, the bidding thresholds provide for an annual inflation adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers.

Effective January 1, 2022, the bidding thresholds for Pennsylvania municipal authorities and municipalities are:

  • Purchases and contracts below $11,800 require no formal bidding or written/telephonic quotations.
  • Purchases and contracts between $11,800 and $21,900 require three written/telephonic quotations.
  • Purchases and contracts over $21,900 require formal bidding.

For more information on this, contact Daniel Conlon at dconlon@tuckerlaw.com.
