The law firm of Tucker Arensberg, P.C. is pleased to announce that Matthew J. Burne and Sloane B. O’Donnell have joined the firm in the Pittsburgh office in the Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Creditors’ Rights Group.
Matt concentrates his practice on representing clients in commercial transactions, restructuring and bankruptcy matters. Prior to joining Tucker Arensberg, Matt served as law clerk to the Hon. Thomas P. Agresti in the Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Matt also practiced in New Jersey representing Chapter 7 Trustees, Chapter 11 Trustees and creditors in various bankruptcy matters.
Matt earned his LL.M. in Bankruptcy from St. John’s University School of Law, where he received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in the Advanced Bankruptcy Research Seminar. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Barry Law Review. Matt received his B.S. from Saint Joseph’s University and holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America.
Sloane has experience in litigating bankruptcy matters on behalf of financial institutions, including relief from stay and contests to proofs of claims. In state court matters, Sloane has experience representing financial institutions, businesses and equipment lessors in breach of contract actions and recovery matters. Prior to joining Tucker Arensberg, P.C., Sloane worked at a boutique creditor’s rights law firm in Pittsburgh.
Sloane earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2015, where she served as the Managing Editor for the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Sloane graduated cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College in 2012 where she earned her B.A. in English Literature and Political Science.
