  • The firm brought an action on behalf of a software consulting and e-commerce firm against a former employee who, the day he announced his resignation to join a competitor, sent an e-mail to his personal account which included highly confidential information downloaded from the employer's database.
  • One of the firm's attorneys defended, in a federal criminal case, the first defendant prosecuted in the Western District of Pennsylvania under the federal Economic Espionage Act. Following a preliminary hearing but prior to the actual trial, the attorney obtained a favorable plea agreement.
  • Representing a franchisor, the firm successfully obtained an injunction against former franchisee based upon claims of unfair competition and trademark infringement. The injunction prevented the franchisee form using the markings, logo and name of the franchisor.
  • The firm defended a manufacturing concern which had been accused of using technical information which had been wrongfully obtained from the plaintiff.
  • The firm represented an employer seeking to enforce a restrictive employment covenant which was based upon the former employee's access to trade secrets.
  • The firm defended a large pharmaceutical manufacturer in a patent infringement action. A favorable settlement resulted.
  • The firm has been approved as panel counsel by a large insurance company in reference to a new e-commerce/Internet coverage it has began to offer.
  • The firm has handled numerous disputes arising from the use of Internet domain names.
