PITTSBURGH, PA - Eleven of Tucker Arensberg's attorneys have been named to the list of “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers” for 2009 by Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Magazine. Those selected for the list include: W. Theodore Brooks, Michael A. Cassidy, Neil E. Hendershot, Kenneth W. Lee, Jeffery J. Leech, Beverly Weiss Manne, Robert L. McTiernan, William H. Powderly, Lee C. Swartz, Richard B. Tucker II and Homer L. Walton.

W. Theodore Brooks - Ted was named a Super Lawyer in the Real Estate Category. Ted, a shareholder with the firm and Co-chair of the firm's Real Estate/Construction Practice Group, represents real estate developers and land owners in all aspects of land development, including acquisition, financing, subdivision, zoning and land use regulations, leasing and taxation. Ted graduated from Bucknell University, with a B.A. in History, and received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Michael A. Cassidy - Mike was named a Super Lawyer in the Health Care Category. Mike is a shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group. Mike has extensive experience in third party reimbursement, managed care and physician contracts, fraud and abuse, medical staff and credentialing issues, regulatory compliance and tax-exempt organization issues. Mike received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Neil E. Hendershot - Neil was named a Super Lawyer in the Estate Planning and Probate Category.  Neil focuses his practice in the areas of elder law, personal and estate planning, family business succession, estate and trust administration, Orphans' Court (PA probate court) litigation, real estate and charitable organizations. Neil earned his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University and his law degree from The Dickson School of Law.

Kenneth W. Lee - Ken was named a Super Lawyer in the Construction/Surety Category. Ken is a shareholder in the firm's Harrisburg office and Co-chair of the Real Estate/Construction Practice Group. Ken practices in the areas of construction litigation, construction-related insurance matters, municipal and government contracts and surety law. Ken received his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, a Master of Arts degree from Villanova University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Jeffery J. Leech - Jeff was named a Super Lawyer in the General Litigation Category. Jeff is a shareholder and of the firm's Litigation Department and Co-Chair of the Employee Benefits Practice Group.  Jeff's practice focuses on business litigation, construction and employee benefit litigation under ERISA.  He has represented financial institutions, public utilities, construction companies and employee benefit plans in more than 2,000 lawsuits. Jeff received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and received his law degree form the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Beverly Weiss Manne - Beverly was named a Super Lawyer in the Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights Category. Beverly is a shareholder with the firm and Chair of the firm’s Insolvency and Creditors’ Rights Department. She represents commercial lending and leasing clients in all types of troubled credit situations, including loan restructuring, forbearance, workout, collection action and bankruptcy proceedings. Beverly is President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and is a member of the national TMA Board of Directors. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh and her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Robert L. McTiernan - Bob was named a Super Lawyer in the Employment and Labor Category. Bob is a shareholder with the firm and Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group. Bob often counsels clients on employment agreements, confidentiality issues, non-competition covenants, wage and hour problems and employee discipline and discharge. Bob received his undergraduate from Harvard University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.

William H. Powderly - Bill was named a Super Lawyer in the Employee Benefit/ERISA Category. Bill is an of counsel attorney and member of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. He routinely counsels and defends plan administrators, both corporations and private administrators, on insurance considerations including direct versus self-insurance as well as the insurance laws of various states for multi-office entities. Bill received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Lee C. Swartz - Lee was named a Super Lawyer in the Personal Injury Plaintiff: General Category. Lee is a shareholder and practices in the firm's Harrisburg office. He concentrates his practice on civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial law. Lee is currently the Permanent Reporter of the Supreme Court Procedural Rules Subcommittee on the Suggested Civil Standard Jury Instructions.  He received his undergraduate degree from Albright College and his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University.

Richard B. Tucker, III - He was named a Super Lawyer in the Appellate Law Category. Dick is a shareholder in the firm and concentrates his practice in the field of litigation, with a focus on appellate litigation. He has argued cases in the United States Supreme Court, Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the Pennsylvania Supreme, Superior and Commonwealth Courts. He has handled a variety of civil cases involving general commercial transaction claims, letters of credit, insurance coverage, workers' compensation, ERISA benefits and employment issues. Dick received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree from the Columbia University Law School.

Homer L. Walton - Homer was named a Super Lawyer in the Employment and Labor Category. Homer, a shareholder with the firm and Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group, concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and labor law and directors and officers liability. Homer provides defense of claims alleging sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, discrimination based on age, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap and disability in violation of state and federal laws. Homer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
