The Summer Associate Hiring Process:

Although there are no set criteria you must meet to qualify for a position at Tucker Arensberg, we pursue candidates with impressive academic credentials, character, attitude, energy, and non-academic interests.  We look for a combination of law school performance, undergraduate achievement and law review participation.

We recruit our summer associates during on-campus interviews in September or October and via unsolicited resumes and referrals from our own lawyers.

The Summer Associate Work Life:

Summer associates have an attorney mentor assigned to assist them.

Our summer associates work on a wide variety of projects, including research, writing agreements, pleadings and briefs and observing depositions, closings, client meetings, arbitrations, and, if scheduling permits, an actual trial.

Summer associates are evaluated by the lawyers who give them work assignments. They have an exit interview at the end of the summer conducted by a practice group head and the shareholder in charge of the program, at which time the evaluations completed by lawyers are reviewed.
