Michael C. Mazack

Mike is a shareholder and his practice is focused primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, representing creditors in insolvency and workout agreements, representing commercial and residential landlords, business formation and acquisition and loan closings. Mike represents creditors in foreclosure and loan workout actions, he represents local municipalities in collection actions and performs collection services for small businesses.  He also represents creditors in bankruptcy actions, receiverships and real estate transactions.  Mike is a certified by the Pittsburgh chapter of SCORE as an advisor for start-up companies and small businesses.  He also represents landlords in evictions, lease negotiation and collection actions.

Articles and Presentations: Mike has participated in several Continuing Legal Education programs for the United States Bankruptcy Inn of Courts.  In January Mike was a presenter at the Distressed Note Expo in New Jersey where he spoke on a panel about loan servicing and loan workout strategies.  In March Mike was a presenter at the 2017 Note Investor Summit in Newport Beach where he spoke about foreclosure and bankruptcy strategies.

Honors and Awards: Mike was the recipient of the CALI award for excellence in legal writing in the subject of Secured Transactions.  He has been selected for several years for inclusion as a Pennsylvania Rising Star® by Super Lawyers for Insolvency and Creditors’ Rights.

Memberships and Activities: Mike is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association.

Jurisdictions:  Mike is admitted to practice before all state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Education and Background: Mike graduated in 2000 from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. degree in political science. He received his Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

While in law school, he worked full time for the Insolvency and Creditor’s Rights Department at Tucker Arensberg.
