John T. Vogel
John T. Vogel is a
member of the firm’s Business and Finance Department where he handles corporate,
personnel and employee benefit matters for business, institutional and
individual clients.
John has aided corporations, especially in the technology area, on structural
issues, shareholder disputes and business planning. He regularly advises clients
on land development, zoning and general real estate issues. John represents
non-profit organizations, and his practice includes counseling clients on
collective bargaining issues, employee policy administration and personnel
disciplinary matters.
John advises employees and handles related litigation on various ERISA and other
employee benefit, tax and compensation issues, including employee welfare and
pension plans. John is a solicitor for local school districts and municipal
bodies: in particular, his background with local tax, tax assessment/exemption
and municipal land use issues has been of great assistance with firm clients.
John received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983 and his J.D.
from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1989 where he was Authorities
Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. He is a member of the
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. A member of the
Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars, John is admitted to practice before the United
States District Courts for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the District of
New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. John
also serves as a member of the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon Parks Advisory Board.
