Russell R. Sanders

Russell R. Sanders is a shareholder in our Insolvency and Creditors Rights Department and concentrates his practice in the areas of creditors rights and remedies, bankruptcy, real estate transactions, commercial loan transactions, secured transactions, wholesale and retail motor vehicle financing transactions and commercial and consumer collections.  His practice regularly requires his appearance before the Common Pleas Courts throughout Western Pennsylvania as well as the Bankruptcy Courts for all three Pennsylvania Districts, although most of his bankruptcy representation is focused in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.  Russell has represented a wide variety of clients including national financing institutions, credit unions, and motor vehicle financing institutions. Russell is also a licensed title insurance agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Company.

Russell is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations, the Commercial Law League of America and the American and Pennsylvania Associations for Justice.

Educational Background

Russell obtained a B.A. in History with a minor in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 1978.  He then obtained his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1982. Russell was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as being admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1982.  He was also admitted to practice before U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 1984 and before the U.S. Supreme Court in 2007.
