Thomas E. Reiber
Mr. Reiber, a shareholder in the firm’s Insolvency and Creditors' Rights
Department, concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial loan
transactions and creditor’s rights. His clients include state and local
lending institutions and individual and corporate creditors. His experience
ranges from assisting lenders with commitment letters, to workout
negotiations, to bankruptcy representation.Tom’s practice has led him to
county courthouses throughout Western Pennsylvania, as well as the
bankruptcy courts in West Virginia and all three Pennsylvania Districts. Tom
was appointed by the Solicitor for the City of Pittsburgh to act as counsel
for the City in the recent Pittsburgh Penguins bankruptcy and was
instrumental in negotiating and obtaining payment by the Debtor of all
pre-petition amusement taxes collected.
Tom sits on the board of directors of a community development corporation
active in the renovation and construction of housing in city neighborhoods. Tom
was responsible for the writing and implementation of a zoning ordinance as
chairman of the planning commission for the rural Butler town in which he and
his family reside. Tom is serving his second term on the Board of School
Directors for Slippery Rock Area School District.
Tom received his undergraduate degree from Lehigh University, his master’s
degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his law degree from Duquesne
University. Tom is admitted to practice in the state courts of Pennsylvania and
the Federal courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
