John B.
Montgomery
John B. Montgomery has devoted his
career of over 30 years to the representation of banks, leasing companies and
other lending organizations. His practice includes secured and unsecured
lending; asset based lending, equipment leasing, bankruptcy and asset
recoveries. Assets financed include, railroad rolling stock, inland marine
equipment, commercial and corporate aircraft, machine tools, printing equipment,
mining assets, computers, vehicles, metal scrap, coal mining and power
generation facilities. Industries in which he is experienced include
transportation, steel, mining, printing, consumer products, paper, cement,
communications and others.
During his career, Mr. Montgomery has
held the position as general counsel to a regional equipment-leasing firm. In
addition to his lending work, John has served as counsel to creditors in
collection and bankruptcy matters. John is a frequent lecturer on equipment
leasing, secured lending and financial institution regulatory matters.
A graduate of Duquesne University
School of Law, Mr. Montgomery is admitted to practice in the State and Federal
courts of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and
Allegheny County Bar Associations. He is a founding director of the Pittsburgh
Leasing Association, has served on the Firm’s Board of Directors and managed the
Firm’s Business and Finance Department.
He has an AV rating in the
Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest rating for legal ability
and ethical standards awarded by this national directory of lawyers.
