Kenneth
W. Lee
Kenneth W. Lee practices in the
areas of construction litigation, construction-related insurance matters,
municipal and government contracts, and surety law. His experience includes
the representation of owners, contractors (including general contractors,
sub-contractors, and specialty contractors) and surety providers in all
fields of the construction industry. Ken has handled Mechanics’ Lien
matters, and has written and lectured on the subject. Ken recently redrafted
the Contracts Section of the Pennsylvania Standard Jury Instructions (2003
Ed.) issued by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Ken has handled litigation in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania,
Georgia, Connecticut, Tennessee, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas,
Florida, Maryland, Ohio and West Virginia, and those states’ specialized courts
such as the Pennsylvania Board of Claims and the West Virginia Court of Claims.
In addition, he has tried cases before the American Arbitration Association,
Federal Mediation Service and “private” dispute panels.

respect to the Belle Vernon, Pa. Bridge on Interstate 70;

$400,000 delay claim litigation
with respect to the Pa. Route 65 Eckert Street Bridge;

$600,000 extra work litigation with
respect to the Tygart Valley Bridge in West Virginia;

$600,000 extra work litigation with
respect to the Mon City Bridge;
-
$200,000 extra work litigation with
respect to the Pittsburgh, Pa. 40th Street Bridge;

$1,200,000 termination claim with
respect to the Pittsburgh, Pa. Wabash Bridge and Tunnel Stabilization
Contract;

respect to the Six Mile Creek Bridge on Interstate 90;

litigation with respect to the Venango, Pa. Bridge Contract;

the SEPTA Terminal in Philadelphia, Pa.; and

the USX Clairton Works.
Ken is a 1987 graduate of the
University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he received the Faculty Award for
Legal Scholarship. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College
and a Master of Arts degree from Villanova University. He is a graduate of The
Mercersburg Academy.
Ken is a member of the Allegheny
County Bar Association, the Dauphin County Bar Association, the Better Business
Bureau where he served as an arbitrator/mediator, and the Associated
Pennsylvania Constructors (APC). He has been appointed to the following national
committees for The Associated General Contractors of America: Construction
Education Committee, Surety Bonding Committee and Contract Documents Committee.
He was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in
America® 2006, 2007 and 2008 in the Construction Law category and named a 2006, 2007
and 2008 Pennsylvania
Super Lawyer in the Construction/Surety Law Category.
