Donald P.
Eriksen
Donald P. Eriksen, a shareholder with
the firm, has engaged in the practice of law for more than thirty years. Don’s
practice has concentrated in matters relating to financing and the natural gas
industry.
He has been involved in matters
relating to the formation, acquisition and equity financing of various
businesses and properties including oil and gas, and real estate projects, as
well as matters relating to securities laws, as they relate to private
placements.
Don is considered an expert in the
oil and gas area. He has over 30 years of experience in all phases of oil and
gas development including title matters, operations, production, sale, pipeline
matters, financing, and mergers and acquisitions, and has substantial personal
oil and gas investments. Don has a strong knowledge of the oil and gas business
including field activities and would advise on the operational matters in the
engagement. Over the past year, Don has advised owners of the rights to develop
Marcellus Shale as to the economic benefits available to them, the legal
protections to be sought and the field operations to drill and operate Marcellus
Shale wells.
After graduating in 1964 from
Princeton University with a degree in physics and working at Westinghouse;
Research and Development Laboratory for two years, he obtained his law degree,
magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969. He was a member of
the Editorial Board of the Law Review and the Order of the Coif. He was selected
by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2006, 2007 and 2008
in the Natural Resources Law category.
