Theodore Brooks
Mr. Brooks, shareholder with the firm, has
been involved in the school law area of practice since 1971 and has served
as Solicitor, special counsel, advocate and hearing officer in all aspects
of school law.
In addition, Ted
represents clients involved in a broad range of business, including real estate
development, manufacturing, distribution, retailing, professional corporations,
printing, nursing home and personal care home management and condominium and
homeowners associations. Ted brings his broad experience in the general practice
of law to the field of education law in working on solutions to the myriad
problems faced by public and private schools.
Ted has represented
school districts in general litigation, labor arbitrations, contract enforcement
and administration, student discipline, construction contracting, and financing
and taxation. He has served as hearing examiner in numerous student and teacher
discipline cases.
Ted graduated from Bucknell University in 1966,
with a B.A. in History, and received his law degree from the University of
Pittsburgh School of Law in 1969.
He was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best
Lawyers in America® for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 in the Real Estate Law, Land Use & Zoning Law and
Education Law categories.
Ted was named a 2006 and 2007 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the Real Estate Law Category
In addition to having been an active member of
the Board of Neighborhood Legal Services of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh
Airport Area Chamber of Commerce,
Ted is active in church, community and pro bono legal matters.
