The law firm of Tucker Arensberg, P.C. is pleased to announce that Kenneth J. McDermott has joined the firm in the Harrisburg office. McDermott focuses his practice on serving the hospitality and alcohol industries, as well as litigation, corporate and business matters, and intellectual property. He maintains an alcohol law blog, www.BarrelsAndBarristers.com and an active twitter feed discussing news impacting the alcohol industry (@Pa_Alcohol_Law).
McDermott was a judicial law clerk for a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice. As a clerk, he prepared opinions on numerous significant legal issues including land development, uninsured and underinsured motorist insurance, trustee compensation and capital murder.
Prior to his clerkship, McDermott was an associate with a construction litigation firm, where he represented subcontractors, contractors, owners and design professionals in a variety of legal matters including contract disputes and mechanic’s lien claims. He most recently practiced with a well-known firm in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
McDermott graduated summa cum laude from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Robert E. Cook Honors College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He received his Juris Doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, where he was the case notes editor for the Journal of American Arbitration.
